I found the lemonade recipe in #earlysummer edition of #food&drink . It has rhubarb in it which makes it a perfect choice for my rhubarb series.
The lemonade by itself is a refreshing drink with a hint of rhubarb but when I mixed it with gin it made a superb drink for hot days.
Here is how to make the lemonade. You can keep it in the fridge for 2 days.
Ingredients:
1 cup chopped rhubarb
2 tsp sugar
2 Tbsp runny honey 🍯
3 Tbsp lemon juice
1 1/2 cup water
Instructions:
In a shaker add rhubarb and sugar
Muddle until sugar dissolves.
Add honey and lemon juice 🍯 🍋 . Stir until honey is dissolved.
Strain into a pitcher pressing solids to get all the juice.
Stir in water, cover and refrigerate until chilled.
To make the cocktail:
Use rhubarb peel (use vegetable peeler to make a ribbon) and put it in glass to cover the wall. Fill up a glass with ice cubes. Pour 2 oz Gin and top it with lemonade.
If you like your drink bubbly leave room for bubbly tonic water.
garnish with rosemary spring.
